1.) I wonder about other reviews

I was ambivalent about buying this based on the reviews that I have read. I will say up front I do not have a Waterpik that sits on my counter top and plugs into the wall socket. I had one once and will never own one again. You pull on the hose and the unit travels across the counter. No I found that I like the cordless ones better. I have own the Waterpik WP-360W. It was OK but the battery pretty much had to be charged every week if used daily. It held just enough water to get the job done, it was hard to fill with water under the bathroom sink and I got about 3 years use from it until the unit stop charging due to corrosion where the charger plugs into the unit(This is because water spills on the connection).
I then bought the Panasonic EW-1270AC. This was fine for travel but it had allot of problems like the water cap always falling off, water leaking out when you needed to store it in the suitcase(always had to keep it in a zip loc bag to prevent the remaining water that was always there even after emptying in sink), the tip always falling on the floor as the way it was to be stored should have held the tip better. Allot of germs on the floor. Plus the batteries were not rechargeable. So even after reading the reviews on the new Waterpik Cordless Dental Jet I bought one. For the life of me I could not understand why so many negative and mediocre reviews on this unit. But I figure it could not be that bad as it was the number one seller of cordless water jets. Here is a little contrast and compare on the reviews and my unit the WP-450 Ultra;
1. It is so loud it will wake anyone sleeping. Coffee grinder loud!
** Yes I guess it is loud as it is near you ear while using! But not that loud to me(i.e. I am a bit hard of hearing) My woman says it is not that loud and she has great hearing**
2. The reservoir is so small it runs out in 10 seconds.
** Maybe this user has a leak in his unit. I use mine for about 30 seconds until all food is removed and I still have half of the water left. And yes I am using the High pressure setting. **
3. The tip is so mobile (rotates all over the place), you can't control it.
** Mine doesn't. Of course I have only had it a month. **
4. It is poorly designed, too large, and difficult to hold (Can't imagine if you have small hands).
** I thought it was well ergonomically designed. I have nerve damage in my hand that makes it hard to hold on to things and get tops off of bottles but I had no problem holding the WP-450 Ultra. I think it is most excellent! **
5. Poor battery life, long charge time, no charge indicator. After two uses I needed to recharge! (yes I let it charge up initially for 16 hours!).
** I have only charged my unit for 8 hours and have been using once a day for a month. I has not slacked off one bit in pumping the water out. **
6. Expensive, Poor Value: Price is ~70% higher than the WP-360
** Yes that is usually the case for older models. They usually do cost less than newer models as the cost of production is higher than years ago. It is actually 61.4 % higher in cost. The old unit uses Ni-Cad batteries as the new one uses more expensive L-Ion or NiMH batteries hence the higher cost and the L-Ion battery can hold a charge longer. **
7. Poor Reservoir Capacity -only 120 ml or 20% less than the already-tiny WP-360's 150 ml
** I do not know how you can say that. I fill my units up to max and the new Water Jet holds twice the amount of water then the WP-360. Also I had to use a paper cup the fill up the old WP-360 **
8. Terrible portability, large/inefficient size, ungainly ergonomics
** Well it is not touted as a travel water jet just a cordless one for home use. The Panasonic however is a true Travel/Portable unit as advertised. **
9. Weak water stream.
** You've got to be kidding. It has two settings and is way better then the WP-360 and about the same pressure as the Panasonic model. Are you sure you have it charged up? **
10. Very bad. Main problem is the tip won't stay fixed, it keeps rotating, so it sprays water everywhere but your teeth.
** I have not observed this problem. My tips stays right where it should. I will report back if this changes. **
11. The reservoir is so small that it empties before you are ready to stop using it. It should be at least 2 1/2 times the size.
** I have to wonder what you are using this for. I use mine to remove the food particles from the gums and between teeth. When things stop coming out of the mouth am done. My dentist says I have the best gums of any patient he has in his practice and I only use this once a day before bed. **
It appears that the problem with the old WP-360 was the fact that the charger contacts on the front would get water inside no matter how careful one was and the metal from the charger was different from the metal that took the charger. What I observed on the WP-360 was dissimilar metal corrosion. What I observed on this new water jet was the charger contact is now enclosed in plastic and has been moved to the back of the unit where their is less chance of water getting in to the charger contacts.
Allot of people keep going on about the old WP-360 in this post about the batteries not holding a charge. I think most people probably keep the unit charger plug in while not in use. This will lead to what is called a memory problem with Ni-Cad batteries. Ni-Cad batteries should never be keep on a continuous charge as that will lead to the memory problem mentioned. It is best to have Ni-Cads discharge completely and then recharge them. L-Ion / NiMH batteries do not suffer from this problem that I know of, but it is always better to only charge any battery after it loses its charge. Continuous charging on batteries will lead to shorten battery life.
If I experience any problems with the Waterpic Water Jet WP-450 Ultra I will amend this review. I just can not understand all these bad negative reviews. If the unit was so bad why would it be the number seller when I bought it? No I do not work for Waterpic but I have used their products for years and have not had that many problems which is why I guess they are still number one in Oral Irragtor sales. I hardily recommend the WP-450 Ultra if you are looking for a cordless (not Travel sized) waterjet. This is hands down better then the old but still selling WP-360.

I purchased this Waterpik several weeks ago and could not be more pleased. I had read some negative reviews before and they were way of the mark. The tip does not turn when it is in your mouth unless maybe you mashed it against your tooth or something. It stays charged for a long time, easy to handle, the two setting are perfect as I prefer the lighter setting and it is just right. I had the prior model and this is a big improvement in handling it as it has a curved body now instead of straight. Also the tip release is farther away so you cannot accidently push it when using it like I did a few times with the old one. Also the on off switch is easier to use than before. Can't think of anything that can be improved!

I have owned a Ultra Cordless Waterpik now since December 2009. It started to act funky about two weeks ago when it began to make a loud chirping noise (which it did not do when I first bought it). So, I called the customer service line to see what I should do/what they could do for me- and I was prepared to have to argue- like you normally would- just to get the minimal amount of respect and for them to believe that their product is actually malfunctioning. (Don't we all know companies like that!) Anyway, it was a snap! I actually got a customer service rep in less than 5 minutes, to whom I explained my problem to, and then I provided her with the serial number and the model number of the machine, and she assured me that it would be no problem, and they would send another one out as a replacement right away! Talk about wonderful customer service---and that also makes me feel really good about spending $50.00 for a dental "gadget" which, although it works really great, if it hadn't been so easy to fix this problem, I might have had mixed feelings about purchasing it in the first place.

I had previously read reviews by others and was concerned about the constant refilling of water before the entire mouth was completely cleaned. I only need to refill it once and there is plenty of water leftover. It all depends on how fast or how slow you move the waterpik through your mouth. As for the complaints regarding the length of time it stays charged, mine is keeping the charge for one week (one person usage). I will ask my dentist at the next checkup if she can tell the difference between my flossing and using this device - any cleaner?

I've owned my Ultra Cordless for about 6 months now, and feel that enough time has gone by to write a review. Some of categories I have been keeping an eye on are: 1) Battery Charge Intervals 2) Reservoir Size 3) Jet Power 4) Ergonomics 5) Construction Quality 6) Corrosion at recharge terminal 7) Power Switch reliability 8) Noise 9) Transportability 10) Effectiveness of oral irrigation.
1) The battery charge interval is outstanding. I use the unit twice a day on average, and I can go more than three weeks between charges. Each use of the unit drains the fully filled reservoir. I let the battery completely discharge through use, then fully recharge on the charger overnight for more than 12 hours.
2) Rerservoir size, on full power setting, is more than adequate to fully irrigate for me. I find no issues with the size.
3) Jet Power, has two settings. I use the full power setting, and it seems to have enough power with a fairly strong jet. When I first started using the Ultra, I had to start on the low setting due to gum sensitivity.
4) The unit has a tapered area that makes it easy to hold. Also, the tank design weighs the unit such that it is comfortable to the hand.
5) Construction quality seems good, with quality plastics. It is made in China.
6) Corrosion at recharge terminal. The terminal socket has pins that are gold plated. Even though it gets wet during use, there is no corrosion in the terminal socket, as would be expected from gold plated pins.
7) Power on/off switch reliability. This is a slider switch, and it gets wet during use. It does not appear to be water proof by way of external examination. However, it is working fine after 6 months, and doesn't appear to be suffering any degradation. It is something I will continue to keep an eye on.
8) Noise. The pump makes noise, and any insulation would add weight. The pump is fairly powerful for a battery powered unit, so some noise is a good engineering compromise. I don't find the noise excessive.
9) Transportability. I take my Ultra on trips and use it at home. I take off the reservoir tank and pull off the jet tip for transport. The three small items can pack neatly in your luggage. I'm pleased that the unit is easily transportable.
10) Effectiveness. My gums are much healthier and exhibit a pink color. If you have red gums, then that means you have some infection setting in. Irrigating with the Ultra and using a small amount of mouthwash (like Listerene) kills plaque forming bacteria. The jet removes food particles and some of the mouthwash "chemistry" gets under the gumline to help preserve gum health.
The niggles are that the jet tip rotates in its socket. You have to use two hands, one to hold the jet tip at the base, and the other to hold the unit. The jet tip should be keyed to the knurled collar. The power switch is a concern for longevity, but this worry could be unwarranted. It doesn't seem obvious how to replace the battery if and when it fails. Without the niggles, this could be a five star product, but I give four stars for a pretty solid showing.

Pros: Gets the teeth sparkling clean. Period.
Cons: The tip DOES rotate easily, like other reviewers mentioned. Not sure if it's a safety issue, but it is rotating way too easy. Workaround - I just hold it by the tip instead of the body and regulate it.
The tank does empty very fast, but the workaround - just keep the faucet running and from time to time just fill in the water without stopping, just bend low :) It works fine and saves time.

Rating:
I used the ultra corded model for over a year before moving to a college dorm, which didn't have outlets in the bathroom. This cordless model is a bit more difficult to control due to the size (as opposed to the small easy to handle corded models), the tip tends to swivel much too easily (easier than the corded models) so it is sometimes hard to keep in position to spray properly, the pressure is okay for somebody who has sensitive gums, which waterpiks are great for, but I doubt the high setting on this are more than a 5 or 6 on the ultra model (which goes up to 10.) Part of this is because of the limited water supply so I understand from a design standpoint.
To put it simply if you have any space and an open outlet, use the waterpik ultra corded model, I'm going to buy another one of those as soon as I move.

I have had two rechargable Waterpiks. Both had the same problem. After about 5 or 10 months the unit gradually loses the ability to charge up. Most users assume that the battery became defective.
I really need this thing so I decided to look into it and found that the battery in each case was fine. What happens is that the connector on the charging cable gradually deteriorates. This might be due to getting wet repeatedly combined with corrosion and deposits. The inside of the female part of the connector gets get eaten away and actually gets larger in diameter. The electrical connection deteriorates and finally becomes unusable. As a result the battery no longer gets recharged.
I found that the "AdaptaPlug" connector system available at Radio Shack has the same pin diameter and pin spacing. By whittling some plastic away I made a better connector from the Radio Shack parts and now the Waterpiks work like new.

I've been using this model for only a few weeks, so it's too early to tell if it fixes the main problem of the cordless Waterpik 360, which is that before the first year is out, the rechargable battery will no longer hold a charge and so the device becomes useless. (This happened with three previous Waterpik 360s). A Waterpik rep I wrote to about this problem said that the WP-450 has an upgraded battery. Otherwise, the 450 seems to work adequately. But I agree with some of the other reviewers who find that the reservoir is too small (it runs out of water in about 30 seconds even at the low pressure setting) and the water tip is harder to control than the one on the WP-360. You have to hold the base of the tip with your finger to prevent it from rotating inside your mouth.
Update: The unit failed after three months of twice-a-day use. It was taking more and more pushes of the switch to activate the electric motor(even after being fully charged), and the motor itself started sounding like a car running on cheap gas. I called Waterpik, and they're sending a replacement; but given my previous experience with Waterpik portables, I'm not optimistic. I've ordered the portable Panasonic model, so we'll see how that one works after a few months.

This is a god send for people with braces. While it's true that this is NOT a total replacement for flossing (braces or not) it does help a lot in getting rid of all kinds of things that get stuck to teeth and in between teeth. I chose this particular unit because it said it came with a nozzle designed for braces but personally I didn't find that part significantly useful compared to the regular attachment that comes with it other than the fact the water pressure was lower in the orthodontic attachment which made it easier to get used to the whole concept of blasting water on to sensitive gums.
I was very happy with the results I got from it while it was working, yet, this device came with a whole bunch of problems.
First, there was an issue with charging. The connection to the charger seemed poor so sometimes it wont charge at all. I literally had to plug it in over night and bet on the 50/50 chance of it actually charging or not depending on pure luck!
Secondly, for a device that is meant to be used in an environment full of water for an activity that involves a lot of water flowing and splashing around, it is not exactly water proof. It gets wet inside and causes all kinds of problems including biological things that grow inside (eeew)
The electric motor just rusted and got stuck after a few months so I had to take it apart and service it like a car - which is not something an average user would be able to do.
The nozzle sometime pops out of the main unit especially at the high pressure setting.
It is pretty noisy to begin with and gets worse as it ages. But if you close the door of your bathroom you might be able to get away with it.
The water tank is very small and I usually took about 3 refills on a normal cleanup.
Finally after about one year, the gears that make contact between the motor and the pump simply kept skipping and it got to a point beyond repair even for somebody like me who really kept trying hard to make it work.
I'm planning not to replace this with the same unit and try one of those simpler attach to the tap type ones instead next time. One major disadvantage is I won't have the option of using mouthwash (e.g. Listerine) instead of water alone in the spray with it.
But don't get me wrong, despite wearing braces, my hygienist complimented about how clean I maintained my teeth and good part of the credit should go to this device. If only it was a bit more reliable and user friendly. So do try it but don't expect it to be perfect.

I have the product for about 1 year now, I use it everyday and works, rechargeable battery has not died yet as I initially expected. As with many of the other reviews there is a flaw in the way that the nozzles were designed, once put it there they rotate freely, that is very annoying because I have to hold the nozzle with my finger (I got used to do that anyways). It is perfect for braces now that you dont have to work around with the flossing thread between the wires. In general terms I like the device but it should definitely be improved.

My Dentist sold me on the product and the concept. I've been using it everyday ever since. I can honestly say the nylon string dental floss never inspired me. I always had a challenging time flossing the back teeth with them and as a result I never flossed regularly. With the cordless Waterpik I had no problem and enjoyed using it everyday to the amazement of my wife. For me it was certainly a significant improvement over the nylon floss, although relatively an expensive solution.
But (there is always one) the product is marred in terms of its expected lifespan and what I consider a flawed design which was a major annoyance to me.
Lifespan:
When it was new, I had to charge the battery once a week. Over time, the frequency of the battery recharging between uses increased and after six months it stopped working.
Flawed Design:
The product has no battery charge indicator. As a result:
1) Its impossible to tell how much charge is left in the battery
2) When its being charged you don't know if it has completed charging.
3) Or, if it is even charging - we have GFI outlets in our bathroom. Frequently my wife's hair dryer, after usage, trips the GFI circuit and as a result no power is supplied to all the circuits unless it is reset. Therefore even though the Waterpik is plugged in, you don't know if it getting charged until you go to use it or have to plug some other electrical product with an indicator to know power is being supplied.
The only other cordless oral hygiene product I can compare it to in terms of its lifespan and design is the Phillips sonic toothbrush, My original toothbrush lasted 5+ years before dying and had indicator to inform you the level of charge left and/or amount of the battery charged during recharging. I'm not sure how long I expected this product to last, but at the minimum at least two years, as this is the time of their limited warranty. I would have given the product one star, but the ease with which the Customer Service responded and agreed to send me a replacement (without having to send the broken product back) earns them additional two stars as I usually do not experience or expect this level of quality service in this day and age.
We will see how long the replacement product lasts. The other interesting thing the Customer service person mentioned, which sounds counter intuitive to me, is that I need to keep the Waterpik plugged in all the time expect when it is in use. I thought keeping a rechargeable battery plugged in all the time would reduce its lifespan. The experts will have to chime in.

I have to agree with Burkhard. The tip moves so easily its impossible to keep the deep cleaning "Pik Pocket" tip pressed against the gumline to get the deep cleaning it was designed to give. Also, the on/off button should be turn off automatically when released. Trying to control the tip position, hold your head over and down in the sink, tilt the body so the fluid is around the intake tube and slide the on/off button to the position desired is fairly challenging. Plus the on button moves so easily I keep accidentally touching it when removing the tip from my mouth or getting ready to use it and spraying mouthwash in my face, on my shirt or across the room! :-) I finally wrapped a rubber band between the tip holder and the body so it wouldn't move without some effort and another over the on/off button and around the body pulling it down toward the off position so it shuts off when I stop pushing on it. All that and the small resevoir make it just too awkward for my taste. I'll stick with the wand type thank you. They have they're problems too but for me a lot less.

For a year now I've been using the Waterpik Personal Dental System. It's does the job but is noisy and cheesy looking, so I thought I'd treat myself to a nicer version and picked this one out.
First, let me say that this unit does what a Waterpik should do: clean between the teeth and under the gums, especially with gingivitis. But here's why this unit's going back to the local retailer, assuming they'll accept the return:
* The small reservoir wouldn't be such a pain if I didn't have to mix mouthwash with the water, which means handling the thing with wet and slippery hands two or three times a session while blue liquid is dripping down my chin onto my shirt.
* It's awkward to hold. It wouldn't be so bad if the ring that turns the jet were easy to get to. My countertop version has a ring on the top of the small handheld assembly so I can keep a finger on it while holding the assembly. I'd need gigantic hands to do that with this one, especially when the reservoir is full.
* There's no convenient way to store any of the attachments, even the one you prefer. The only solution is to leave the attachment plugged in. If this is really meant to be portable, I'd expect at least a ventilated travel container for the attachments.
* The reservoir's filling hole is too small to do anything more than rinse it out, and even in a dry climate it doesn't dry out between uses. Therefore I'd feel compelled to disinfect it at least once a week to prevent bacteria from growing. Who needs that?
Bottom line: It's better than nothing and portable. If I traveled a lot I'd consider keeping it. But I don't, so I'm going to see if I can find a new corded version that's maybe a little more sturdy than my old unit.

The rechargability makes this an improvement over its predecessor, and I don't even mind that the reservoir is so small, it runs out of water all the time -- if it had higher capacity, it would be too big to hold. So the problem areas in the back of my mouth -- for which my dentist recommended a Waterpik -- aren't being cleaned. I used the Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet for about 5 days. During those 5 days I found this product to be outstanding. I do not believe that this unit suffers from many of the problems that other reviewers have mentioned, especially if you keep in mind that this is a cordless travel model. At the highest pressure the tip did not move unless I accidentally brushed the tip against my gum or tooth. The water reservoir holds just about the right amount of water for a quick cleaning and refilling it is quite easy if you need a more thorough one. Ergonomically it easily fit into my hand and I have small hands. It never leaked and most importantly my teeth and gums felt really clean afterwards.
The big problem - and it's a deal breaker - is the battery and the concomitant lack of customer service from Waterpik dealing with this problem. I initially charged this unit for a full 24 hours prior to first use (Waterpik suggests 16 hours). Using it twice a day with one full water reservoir each time it lasted 5 days. After that time the battery would not hold a charge.
I do not doubt that this unit is defective and that others may not be experiencing the same problem. However, after reading the reviews, I have come to the conclusion that this product line has a defect with its battery - both in the longevity of the battery and its ability to recharge. Read the reviews and see how many people mention some kind of battery problem. I have attempted to contact Waterpik on several occassions regarding the battery via email and telephone and still have not received a reply.
I love the potential of this specific unit, especially for travel, but with its likely battery problems and total lack of customer support, I would not recommend buying it.

Those WP-360s suffered from weak batteries and unreliable electronics so I went through several of them and was initially happy to see Waterpik introducing a new-improved, and more costly WP-450 "Ultra". Unfortunately, there is nothing improved about the WP-450 and it is merely an "Ultra-disappointment".
Pros:

Cons:
-Expensive, Poor Value: Price is ~70% higher than the WP-360
-Poor Reservoir Capacity -only 120 ml or 20% less than the already-tiny WP-360's 150 ml

So I did and in an age where battery problems like these do not have to be the case Water Pik puts sorry battery technology again in this unit. They know it and it is not an accident, but a complete rip off. The Ultra lasted less than 4 months used twice daily. Great unit for pressures and portablilty. Get over the small reservoir it is a portable and 3 seconds to refill, so get a life. That is why they are portable. I will NEVER own another Water Pik product. I echo the comments in previous reviews, and add the question: did anyone in management at Waterpik try this thing before they decided to sell it? The poor design is awful. It defeats the user. Waterpik should be embarrassed.
Two problems say it all. As someone else commented, the head swivels uncontrollably in your mouth, making it impossible to control the angle of the water when it hits your teeth, which is after all the purpose of using the waterpik.
Second, as also noted, the reservoir is small. After you are done wrestling with the swiveling head, the water runs out -- it's like an I Love Lucy comedy.
I actually like the Waterpik concept, and own a larger unit. However, I have had problems with poor quality. The first one I bought didn't work and needed to be returned. I also bought the earlier travel version, which seems to be no longer made, and it worked well but fell apart after about 3 weeks of use. Now this. You have to hold it upright and of course the water runs out of your mouth and all over the device and your hand, down your arm, etc. They should make a portable device with a seperate tank with a hose - something similar to the regular full size model, but with a smaller tank, shorter hose, and smaller handle. I have been using it now for two months and I think that the unit is a disaster.
PROS: it's cordless, it holds a charge for many hours, it is small enough to take along if traveling.
CONS: it's jet rotates in your mouth so it is impossible to aim at a particular spot unless you hold the jet with the other hand which is rather awkward. But even then the jet easily flips and slips around in your mouth such that you need several refills to do a good cleaning.
Worse: the jet tends to jump off, spraying your face, the mirror, the bathroom, everything. It's a facial shower unit. Although by now I'm well rehearsed to use both hands to keep it in place, the jet keeps popping off and I have hardly a cleaning where I don't need to clean myself and the room up thereafter.
Also: the jet intermittently starts jerking around, or up and down, like a sledgehammer ... jerking around on your gums, even making them bleed. The solution to that is to turn the unit off and start over.
Then the on / off switch has a problem: the lightest touch turns it on or off, such that if you are cleaning, you might inadvertently turn it off or if you are done and just drying it off you might inadvertenly turn it on and once again spray everything.
I'm going to order right now a different product.

The pick itself rattles around and ends up pointing in every direction imaginable. This makes it impossible to use the device to clean your teeth and gums. Water ends up shooting everywhere. You also have to hold the device upright in order for it to work. As a result, the discharged water ends up running out on the device, and you end up with a mess on your hands.
If I were Waterpik, I'd be embarrassed to even market this. They clearly either didn't put any research into this item, or they will just blindly sell whatever they can without any regard for usability or practicality.

My last Waterpik was the standard countertop version with a hose. I thought this would take up less counterspace, and it does, but it is not much fun to use. The cordless version is just too bulky to be comfortable in use. Another problem is the tips rotate too easily - it is difficult to keep the stream of water aimed where you want it unless you use both hands, one to hold the unit and the other holding the tip. It also has a fairly weak pump - even fully charged it often stops while using. Finally, the tank does not hold enough water. Even on low power setting it is empty before you hit all your teeth. As it empties you need to juggle the unit to keep the pump intake underwater.

I have used it for two weeks. Now I have decided to throw it away. This is one of the worst dental products I have tried. Here are the problems I have.
1. The tip keeps popping out if I set the power to high. I tried both the regular tip and the tip for pockets. Both of them have the same problem. So I don't bother to buy a new tip.
2. The tip vibrates a lot that I cannot position it to the gum line. The whole idea is to get the water to the gumline. But it vibrates so much that it won't do the job right.
3. Tip rotates on the contact of anything. By design, there is a dial to rotate the tip. But it can be easily rotated by slightly turning it. So once the tip is in your mouth, it changes the direction easily.
4. Smaill reservoir: The water reservoir is very small. It was designed that way to be portal. Unfortunately it is simply too small. I have to fill water four times to cover the whole mouth.
5. There is no charging light. With all the problems above, I actually don't care too much on this.
The whole idea of water jet is even doubtable. I used this for two weeks without using proxabrushes for my perio problems. My gum started bleeding again. I would classify this as a piece of junk. I may use it as water gun for my kids. But again the water reservoir is too small...

My complaint about the cordless dental water jet (Waterpik Ultra) is that the charger loses its charge very quickly. As long as I keep it plugged in, it seems to work, but only for about three fillings.
I sent an email to the seller, and received this answer:
Dear Customer,
Please get in touch with the manufacturer as we are not the manufacturer.

More Effective Than Flossing -- Without the Discomfort Most dental professionals recommend brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and gums their healthiest. Unfortunately, a large number of Americans -- nearly 80-percent -- don't floss on a regular basis, and most studies have shown that most people find flossing to be a painful or unpleasant chore. Waterpik has created an effective alternative to flossing that feels great and is simple to use.
Pulsating Streams for Healthier Teeth and Gums
The Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet goes beyond flossing to keep your teeth and gums healthy and clean. Waterpik has designed the WP-450 to deliver precisely controlled pulsating streams of water pressure to remove debris and bacteria lodged deep between teeth and below the gumline. In fact, it has been shown that the WP-450 can clean three times deeper than brushing alone. In addition, it massages and stimulates the gums to improve circulation. The WP-450 helps promote strong and health gums, leaving you with a clean, fresh mouth sensation.
According to Waterpik, there are over 50 published clinical studies that show the Waterpik Dental Water Jet provides significant oral health benefits for anyone who desires healthier teeth and gums. These studies also show that the WP-450 is especially effective for those who have braces, implants, crowns, bridges, and other dental work. For these reasons, Waterpik is one of the most recommended brands by dental professionals.
Design Features and Cleaning Accessories
Oral health benefits aside, the Waterpik WP-450 is also a complete device that is loaded with lots of great features. It includes four color-coded tips:
- Jet Tip: Provides cleaning deep between teeth and below the gumline.
- Orthodontic Tip: Excellent for cleaning around braces.
- Pik-Pocket Tip: Delivers extra gentle deep cleaning below the gumline.
- Tongue Cleaner: Removes bacteria that causes bad breath.
The WP-450 also features an advanced ergonomic handle that is smaller than previous models and easier to hold. Refilling the reservoir is simple and can be completed in a snap, and since this dental water jet is rechargeable, you'll never need to buy new batteries.
